You know those summer craft beer festivals, where you gather in a tent with your friends, sample dozens of craft beers, all while listening to cool music? Well, in Kennett Square, it happens in the heart of winter, too.

Kennett Winterfest is an adults-only afternoon beer fest that takes place Saturday, February 29, with over 60 brewers pouring samples as you wander the grounds with your tasting cup. Doors open at 12:30 and taps close at 4 pm; there’s live music throughout from Amanda and the Teddy Thomas Band. Tickets are $60, and the event benefits Historic Kennett Square; tickets include the beer and music, but not the food, which is pay-as-you-go and available on the grounds from a variety of food trucks (bring cash, as there is no ATM on the premises.) Designated driver tickets (yes, you will need one) are $15.

Despite the address above, Winterfest takes place on the 600 block of South Broad Street. It’s rain or shine, and tents are generally unheated, so you’ll want to bundle up. Day-of tickets are usually available, but are $10 more, so it’s best to book online.
